OOPS

Well I left fools and heros, not because it was a bad guild, lot of good people in it, but I feel it was not right for me. I saw where a lot of my friends went to and I decided that was what was best for me. So I joined OOPS, (love the guild name always have Ranks right up there with short bus infidels in my opion) Seems to be a very nice guild with lots of good people, so I hoep I fit in and make myself useful there.

A Raiding I went

last night I went on a raid, kind of suprising I know, but I went. let me say i am not against rading, its just that there is a lot more to teh game than radiding. Now that being said I will also say i did have a little fun and did get me a shiney new brast plate (Djinn's Breast plate) I had an ok time, first off a lot of people where on team speak so i kind of fealt left out. Another thing that botherd me and was not anyones fault was the lag, that is why I do not like to raid I connect at 28.8 and when I get into raid situations, I lag so badly. But such is life. It was fun and I did have a good time, and more importantly I got some great alt xp :)

A story

Hers is a story I have been working on, not an eq story but something that keeps me out of trouble.

Scene one.

Interior of a Dr.’s office. It is very clean and very sterile. It has a look of mass medicine. There are no personal touches. In the office are EDWARD (goes by ed for short) and SARAH. He is 28 years old and is finishing his last year of residency at a hospital, he is a Psychiatrist. He is wearing a white button up shirt, black slacks and a tie. It screams uniform and he is extremely uncomterable wearing them. Sarah, about 21-25 , is dressed in conservative clothing and has a worried expression on her face.

Ed
So what makes you think someone is after you?

Sarah
Little things.

Ed
Like what?

Sarah
Well, its strange things happening in my apartment.

Ed
Go on.

Sarah
Books on my bookshelf keep rearranging themselves. My mail is in a different order than when I last looked at it. But the thing that bugs me the most is my TV will be on a different channel than when I last left it on.

Ed
Are you sure?

Sara
I knew that you would not believe me.

Ed
I did not say that.

Sara
You didn’t have to; I heard it in your voice.

Ed.
I do believe you. You have a dog don’t you?

Sara:
Yes but I don’t see….

Ed:
Isn’t it possible for your dog to have moved your mail around, and couldn’t some sort of electrical problem be affecting your TV?

Sara:
It’s possible but what about the books?

ED:
I don’t know, but I am sure that there is a reasonable explanation for it. I am sorry but your time is up. We can continue this at your appointment next week.

Sara;
All right, thanks Dr. Johnson.

Ed:
No problem, take care and feel free to call the office if you have any problems.
Goodbye

Sara:
Goodbye.

End scene 1
Scene 2

Setting: At the begging of the scene it is Ed’s office, but as Ed is talking the scene shifts and follows Sara on her way home. We see her leave the office, get on a bus, and walk up the steps to her apartment.

Ed:
Sarah Mitchell. September 22, 1998. Therapy went well today. She is making tremendous progress. (begin focusing on Sara here) I feel that her medication should be reduced, and that she should have a complete set of blood work done by the lab. The one area that Sara is not making progress in is her acute paranoia, she insists that someone is following her, specifically her father. I do not know where this stems from but I will find out. If this does not get better within the next few weeks I suggest that she make an additional office visit per week.

(The last thing in the scene is Sara walking up to her apartment, closing the door behind her and a scream coming from the inside. It is a scream of horror)

Sarah:
FATHER!!!!!
END scene 2
Scene 3

It is a graveside service. About twenty people are there. Including Ed, JOAN ( a young woman about Sarah’s age, she is dressed in black has an air of mystery about her, but is likeable and friendly.) and ALISTARE (he is also in deepest black but to him this is more comfortable attire, has an air of power and hate around him). A priest is talking, doing the eulogy. From the begging of the scene we are doing a pan shot over the grave, to the crowd till it stops on the priest.

Priest:
Sarah, was a woman who even thou she had problems, had a love for life. She was making strides with her Dr, but the pressures of life proved to much for her. Let us not remember that she took her own life, instead let us remember her as young woman that loved life and everyone in it. Let us pray. The lord is my Shepard, I shall not want, he maketh me to lie down in green pastures. Thy rod and Thy Staff comfort me. Amen.

(The funeral begins to break up into small groups. Ed begins to approach Allistare)

Ed:
Mr. Mitchell?

Allistare:
Yes? Can I help you?

Ed:
I am Dr. Johnson, I just wanted to .

Allistare:
You are the on responsible. I told her that you could not help her. That you only wanted her so that you could get her on your couch so that you . .

(Joan appears, and interrupts. There is bad blood between the two of them as you can almost see the sparks fly between the two of them)

Joan:
Uncle that is not true. He helped Sarah so much.

Allistare:
And how would you know.

Joan:
Because, we talked. About anything and everything.

Allistare:
Your point?

Joan:
The last time we talked, which was the day before she died, she called me and said that she was begging to feel alive again. The she could make it through the day with out feeling like she wanted to scream. She almost reminded me of the Sarah I knew before Aunt Lena’s death.

(Allistare slaps Joan)

Allistare:
Never speak her name.

Ed:
Mr. Mitchell, there is no cause for that.

Allistare:
This is family business, between me and Joan. It would behave you to stay out of it. Good day sir, and may our paths never cross again.

(Allistare Leaves)

Joan:
I am sorry about that Dr. Johnson.

Ed:
Please call me Ed, and you are?

Joan:
Joan, Sarah was my cousin, we where very close. I apologize about my uncle, it appears that he has taken Sarah’s death hard. Which is so unlike him. I remember Aunt Lenas death, Sara’s mom, he really was not like this.

Ed:
Its all right. Different peoples deaths affect different people different ways. Well Joan you have my deepest regrets over what has happened here. I must be going but here is my card. If you ever need anything just give me a call.

Joan:
All right, good bye ed.

Ed:
Good bye.

End Scene 3
Scene 4
It is a nice apartment, as we pan through it we hear Joan’s voice. As we pan through we several occult text’s and other trappings of the occult.

Joan
I am sorry, if I had known I would have been there. He had me busy across town you know that. Are you sure? HE DID WHAT? I don’t know. Yes I sensed it in him as well. I don’t believe that Allistare sensed anything from him though. I agree. I will. Yes I know how rare his kind are. Yes I still love you. When you see her give Sarah my love Aunt Lena.
( At this point we should be to Joan’s room and we should see her talking to a ghostly figure resembling Sarah, but older about 45 years old. We can see the figure but we can not hear it)
What do you mean that she is not there. Bound herself? To who? Yes I will watch out for her. Goodbye.
End Scene 4

Scene 5
It is a dreary Mansion, In a dark room, two people are there talking one is Allistare and the other is a figure in black. That is in the shadows that we can not see.

Figure:
Have I done well master?

Allistare:
Yes you have my friend, so the contract is renewed for another five years?

Figure
Yes: you will not age or die from natural causes and your power level is increased again.

Allistare:
And the police suspect nothing?

Figure:
To them it is a suicide and nothing more.

Allistare:
Excellent

Figure:
One thing, five years until the contract is renewed.

Allistare:
No worries my friend. It will be paid.

End Scene five

Scene six, Four years later flashes across the screen. We are in a well lit, homely psychiatrists office. It is the total opposite of the office from four years ago. It is warm, inviting. Ed is there, he is wearing blue jeans and a nice pullover shirt and tennis shoes. He is talking with TIMOTHY TITUS. He goes by Tim for short. He is a well dressed man with an air of innocence about him.

Ed.
So, what you are saying is that you are an advance scout for your race.

Tim
Yes sir

Ed.
Ok, why are you in therapy?

Tim
Well, in my research on humans everyone seems to place so much emphasis on good mental health. Something that important must not be over looked. So I decided I better see if I had good mental health.

Ed.
So how long have you been on earth?

Tim
Five of your years. But 3 of them I was a gorilla in the San Diego Zoo.

Ed.
A gorilla?

Tim
Yes. A noble beast the great apes are. They are such beautiful peaceful creatures.

Ed,
So what made you decide you wanted to be human.

Tim
I kept listening to the humans talk, and was curious. So one night I bid farewell to my breathern in the zoo, and assumed the form you see now.

Ed.
How do you get along with humans now?

Tim.
For the most part, Not well.

Ed.

Why is that?

Tim
Well you humans squander so much. Resources, other species, even each other.

Ed.
Why do you feel that is?

Tim.
I do not know, possibly it is because they think they are superior. But I have seen pets on other star systems that are more advanced than your entire race.

Ed.
So do you want more experience with humans or less?

Tim
More, so that I may learn about them

Ed.
Would you be interested in meeting with a group of people each week?

Tim.
What do you mean by a group of people?

Ed.
Instead of our one on one sessions it would be you me and a few others. No more than four others

Tim.
I would like that, it would help me to get a better undrtstanding of you humans.

Ed.
Glad I could help.

Tim
Thank you.

Ed.
Joan will be in contact with you as soon as we have the specifics.

Tim.
All right, thank you very much Ed, I will see you either next week or at the group therapy session, which ever comes first.

Ed.
Good bye Tim.

Tim leaves the office and Ed goes to his bookshelf to look for something, he gets there and is puzzled,

Ed.
Now that is odd I know that I had the bookshelf in numerical order not alphabetical order.

Joan enters.

Everything all right?

Ed.
Yes, it just that I thought

Joan
Yes?

Ed.
Oh never mind. Are you ready?

Joan
Yes I am where are we off to today?

Ed.
I thought we might try “The White Horse Café” I am in the mood for British food today.

Joan.
Sounds good to me, but do you mind if I invite someone along?

Ed.
Who?

Joan
A perspective client.

Ed.
All right, but before we go we have a stop to make.

Joan
I know. You know you do not have to go.
Ed.
But I want to go

Joan
Why?

Ed.
I feel the need to. Is that ok?

Joan.
Then it is perfectly all right.

End Scene six
Begging of Scene Seven

Joan
We came by to say Hello, and that things just did not work out between the two of us.

Begin Scene eight.

Interior of a nice restaurant. IT is lunch time and everyone seems to be enjoying themselves. The restaurant has a very British feel to it.

Joan
I love this place.

Ed.
So do I now tell me about this potential client of yours.

Joan
Well He is an old professor of mine, he is having some problems and I thought that you could help.

Ed.
Problems, Like what?

Joan
He seems to be suffering from depression and is just different.

Ed.
Is that all?
Joan
That’s about it, oh and he has been abusive to students lately.

Ed.
Abusive how?

Joan.
Well when I was in collage, he was the nicest professor on campus and he has been changing. He berets his students more and is lost more and more in thought. I just wory about him, and I thought that he might make a good addition to the group therapy session. I mean With Tim and Ragnar you need someone from the modern day world and wouldn’t a healthy case of depression just fit right in there?

Ed.
Yes it would. All right let me meet this guy and ….

We hear GARA, he is dressed like a collage history professor, but there is more to him. He moves with a silent grace, like a dancer he is currently yelling at a student.

Gara:
No Joshua the essay is wrong, I don’t care what La’mort da Arthur says. There is more that happens after Arthur’s death than the end.

Joan
I rest my case

Ed.
Hush, lets see how this plays out.

Joshua:
But

Gara:
Don’t but me. I want you to redo the assignment. Go to the library, you know that place where all the books are. Look in the Ancient fiction section try “The widowmakers tale” by Kaddara or “the Chronicles of Wolfjaw” by Pyracathe.

Joshua:
Yes sir, when do you want it?

Gara:
Monday.

Josh
Yes sir, see you then

Gara:
It’s only Wednesday I better see you in class on Friday.

Josh
Yes, sir

Ed
He is a teacher trying to teach students. He does not seem so harsh to me.

Joan
But it is very uncharacteristic

Ed.
All right, you win I will talk with him.

Joan
Thanks, you will not regret it.

Gara
Joan!

Joan
Dr…..

Gara
What have I told you about that?

Joan
Garra, how have you been?

Garra
Who is your friend?

Joan
This is my friend and boss, Dr. Edward Johnson.

Gara
Please to meet you sir. Is this the young man you are dating?

Ed:
Nice to meet you sir, We where dating but when I opened my own therapy center and she needed a job, well we both felt it would not work out if I was the boss and she was employee

Joan
We both decided it would work better if we where just friends.

Gara:
I see. A wise decision. (pause)
I sense a set up.

Ed.
Beg your pardon?

Gara
Not by you Dr. Johnson

Ed.
Please call me Ed.

GarraOnly if you call me Gara. The setup is not by you Ed, but by our lovely friend over here.

Joan
Guilty as charged, I heard about the problems and I thought that I would

Garra
Stick your nose in where it does not belong?

Joan
Well that is not what I would have said but it is the sentiment.

Garra
Well Ed, I may as well make an appointment. With Joan trying to help me I will not get a chance to rest until I make the appointment.

Ed.
(laughs) That sounds just like Joan, As matter of fact I think she has you penciled in

Joan
7:00 pm right after your court ordered.

Gara:
Court Ordered?

Ed
I have a grant from the City, and in it I have to help a couple of cases each month.

Gara:
Very Giving

Ed
It helps pay the bills.

Interior Ed’s Office. Ed is there along with Ragnar, Ragnar is a large man, 6’9 with red hair and a beard, dressed in bikers leathers looks like he could crush a man in half with his bare first but there is a gentleness to him. Ed is behind his desk but Ragnar is roaming the office as they talk to one another.

Ed
Ok Mr. Wolflord

Ragnar
Ed, how many times do I have to tell you to call me Ragnar. With your help I have able to get employment, a fire to warm my self, and a way to let my anger out. I am your devoted servant and swear unto you a oath of friendship and protection to you.

Ed
One step forward to step backs.

Ragnar
I do not understand that Ed.

Ed.
Never mind, So are you still descended from Thor?

Ragnar
Yes, he is my father.

Ed.
Ok, you are descended from Thor. And you left Valhalla three years ago, after leaving your village 13 moons before that.

Ragnar
That is correct. You believe me Ed.

Ed.
Yes I do, Now tell me about your job.

Ragnar
I am employed at a very nice establishment, and even have a title.

Ed.
A title?

Ragnar
Yes in your tongue it is called a “Bouncer.”

Ed.
So where do you do your job at?

Ragnar
A place where a man can prove himself. A warriors gathering place called “The Quick, The dead, and The still Moving:”

Ed.
You mean that place down in the East end where the Hell’s Angel’s fear to go?

Ragnar
I know of none of Hel’s Valkyrye that frequent there but it is a place that a man can feel alive in. A man can fight there and feel that he has accomplished something. The beer is good and they have an excellent HMO, whatever that is.

Ed.
I see, well time is up for today, and now that you are working and interacting with people I feel that it is time for you to be moved to a group therapy session.

Ragnar
What is that?

Ed.
It is where several people get together to talk about their problems.

Ragnar
Ahh, it’s a moot then. Does the moot meet under the full moon to discus plans for battle?

Ed
No, it meet weekly. Joan will be in contact with you about the details.

Ragnar
Very well: Good Eve Shaman of the Mind Ed Johnson (delivers with a salute over the heart)

Joan
A week from Wednesday good for you?

Ed

Session 24, Ragnar Wolflord, Still thinks he is the son of Thor but otherwise he is making progress. He is now employed in a job the he is evidently quite good at. I am changing his therapy sessions over to a group therapy session with him, Timothy Titus, and Gara Redblade. I feel that this is the best for all three but will know more after my first meeting with Gara in about twenty minutes.

Gara:
Revolutionary. Not what Sigmund would have done but it is over a century later.

Ed.
You sound as if you have studied his work

Gara
In a sense

Ed.
Well we are not here to discuss the work of Dr Freud, we are here to discuss you.

Gara
True Shall we begin?

All right, I promise, start whenever you are ready and keep going until the end.

(flash back begins here. The flashback is told as a narrative as the audience will actually see the progression of the story. When Gara describes something that is what we actually see)

Gara

I was born on the plains of Salisbury , in England about fifteen years before the birth of Arthur. Of course no one knew the importance of that birth, Arthur’s not mine. I was born into a life of poverty and soon discovered that I wanted more. But in a world where might makes right and me being a little bit weaker than others I quickly found the door to knighthood slammed in my face. Instead I came to the attention of the thieves guild in the area. They where always on the lookout for boys who where quick not only in body but in mind, luckily I was both. Once I joined the guild I grew up fast. That me how to steal, to hide in plain sight, how to pick pockets and every other skill I would need for the life of a thief. As I grew older, they taught me how to use weapons to defend myself. A dagger in a hidden sheath was the first weapon they taught me to use. As time went by they showed me how to use a wider of variety of weapons, and where to they would do the most damage on the human body, even if it was encased in steel. After weapons they taught me the use of poisons. I was one of the best thieves of the day. They sent me on the most difficult missions and I always came back successful. I remember the day we had heard that a boy had pulled a sword from the stone. After we found out it was true my Guild master, a devious individual, sent me to steal the blade from the boy king. Through trickery I managed to steal the blade. I ran for what seemed like days while a host of knights chased me., but I eluded them. Of those knights, the most persistent was Arthur’s brother Kay. That man chased me from the Salisbury plains, to the Black mountains to Avalon marsh. I made a foolish mistake one day. As I was crossing by a large lake I heard something in the distance. I found myself a hiding spot and there Kay was still looking for me. After fashioning a reed into a tube that I could breathe threw I dove into the water and made my way to the center of the lake. Once there I hid myself under the water and used the reed to breathe through. After a bit I tried to leave the water and found that I could not. I could feel myself being dragged under. As I looked around to see what was dragging me under I saw nothing. I resigned my self to death at that point. But just as I felt that I should die I saw her. She was the most beautiful woman that I had ever seen. She was wearing a white gown and had beautiful long flowing red hair. In an instant I knew who I was before. It was the Lady of the Lake and I was to stand before her for justice. As I stood before her, knowing full well that I was in the wrong I heard her speak.

Lady of the Lake:
Pain and death shall occur to you, but death shall not take you. Forgiveness from the king shall be your only salvation.

As she spoke a blinding white light seemed to geminate from her, The light seemed to come from everywhere and as she spoke the final word it flashed so bright that I passed out. The next thing I knew I was in chains standing before Arthur. Arthur told the knights to take me to the dungeon. Once there I easily escaped and went back to my guild. However once I went “home” I found myself captured and in prison again. It seems I was to be tried by the thieves guild for the one crime that they had. Failure. The outcome of the trial, was never in doubt, for I freely admitted my guilt. I had failed I was given a task and I failed it. The sentence for such a severe failure as this was death. I was given two choices. Death by fire or death by poison. Some choice, death is still death not matter how you look at it. I chose poison. I took the poison the next morning. I chose the quickest acting poison in our inventory, which happened to be a nightshade mushroom. I ate it and waited for death to take me, I had a bad taste in my mouth but nothing happened. After an hour I felt light headed but nothing more, I asked for another and the executioner brought me two, just to be on the safe side. I ate both of them, which including the first one was enough to kill 10 men. After A half hour I was in agony. It felt as if my limbs and my chest where on fire. My guild master saw that I was in agony, and as I felt my heart explode in my chest he mercifully cut my throat. The next thing I remember I was in a grave. I clawed my way out, through the earth up to the top where I could feel the air. As I broke through the soil the lady of the lakes words came back to me.

Lady of the Lake:
Pain and death shall occur to you, but death shall not take you. Forgiveness from the king shall be your only salvation.

I would live forever, and that unless I asked Arthur for forgiveness I could not die. I have lived 1,000 lifetimes since then. Been around this world of ours so many times that it is not funny. And now over a thousand years later I am so tired of this world. I am ready to die, to find the solace in death that I have never found in life. Back in the 1970’s I even tried to apologize to Elvis, I mean after all he is the KING. But I guess I must apologize to Arthur for this to be over with.

End flash back

Ed
Another patient with problem like yours.

Gara
You have another patient from Camelot?

Ed
No I have another patient that thinks he is from the dark ages he thinks that he is the son of Thor

Gara
You do not believe me

Ed
I did not say that

Gara
You did not have to, you’re entire body betrays you. You are nervous, not making eye contact, and playing with your hands.

Ed
It is quite a story, what makes you think you are from Camelot.

Gara
I do not think I am from Camelot, I am from that time here let me prove it to you. (he produces a dagger from his clothes) The only faith people have today is what they can see and touch and it is time for you to believe.

He was not going to hurt me, I think

Gara
I was not going to harm him. I was merely trying to illustrate a point. Or I was

Ragnar
I remember the last time that you tried to illustrate a point

Gara
Do I know you sir?

Ragnar

We are still in Ed’s office Ed, Joan, Garra and Ragnar are all there.

Gara
Oh I remember, lets see it was ten year’s after the death of Arthur, I had been contracted by a Cabalist named Allistare.

Ed
Allistare?

Gara
Yes, is he familiar to you?

Ed
Only the name.
Gara
Well he had hired me to dispense of a problem for him.

Ragnar
Kill my brother you mean

Gara
Your brother was not the original target. Allistare had hired me to infiltrate your village and kill the Shaman of your tribe.

Ragnar
Why?

Gara
He had an artifact that he wanted

Ragnar
I remember the day you killed my brother, It was the day we where having a battle with a village to the north.

Gara
Yes I had come to your village saying I was willing to apprentice myself to your shaman. But he said that he would only apprentice me if I would serve the village in battle. I readily agreed. And went with you and several of the villages warriors to the North. It was on the trek up that I noticed a young man with what I wanted.

Ragnar
You mean my brother.

Gara
Yes, and once the battle begun I killed him and took it.

Ragnar
After I saw him kill my brother, I slew him and left him for dead on the field of battle.

Ed.
How did you kill him? Out of curiosity

Ragnar
With the power of Thor

Ed.
Ok, what’s that?

Ragnar
Lighting from above.

Ed.
Right ok

Ragnar
You do not believe me do you shaman Ed. Then watch and behold.

(Ragnar begins a chant and lighting flies from the celing and strikes Gara electrocuting him)

Ragnar
Justice is served again

Ed
Oh my GOD!!!

Begin Scene 17

Scene interior, a dark apartment. The windows are coverd with what appears to be aluminum foil, Then there are thick black curtains. As we pan through the apartment we hear a radio playing, talking of a kidnapping of preschool children from a local day care. We pan through the house until we come to the bedroom, and the scene begins with a close up on a young woman laying in bed asleep. We begin to see what looks like water hit her in the face, since it is dark in the room we can not tell exactly what is hitting her. As the camera pans out, we see that the bed is postined so that even if light got through the curtains that it would not hit the bed. As the camera pans out we notice it is a child hanging from the celing that is dripping down and hitting her in the face. As she awakens she screams. As she looks around the room we see several children hanging and dripping onto the floor.

Terra
(screams) oh my god, I did not do this, I swear

Begins to panic and move through the apartment, and over her bed are 5 children hanging upside down. Dead,

Terra
But they are children I never touch children. (begins to cry and wahle)

Timothy crashes open the door, and begins to look through her apartment, until he finds her, still in her bedroom.

Timothy
This does not look normal, I know of no earther that keeps children over there bed.

Terra
Get out, (Fangs Bared)

Sara;

Ragnar

Ed.
Well we are not here to discuss the work of Dr Freud, we are here to discuss you.

End Scene 16

Trollish Musings

Well its been a week since I and my wife left the Knighthood. I tried to keep my temper but it got away from me. I feel that I have let my friends down. I still look on the msg boards on the knighthood page, and I shake my head at the posts there by the leader of the guild. He still is snapping at people on the board and I shake my head and still wonder what is going on in his mind. But that is not what this blog is going to be about, what I want this to be about is my thoughts and feelings about the game, I will do my best not to bad mouth people from the game, however that being said if they piss me off they are fare game.
